2026 Elementary Strategic Plan: Maximizing Excellence
Posted Date: 02/26/26 (08:24 AM)

Clallam Bay Elementary is excited to share our 2026 Strategic Plan, a forward-thinking proposal designed to maximize teacher expertise and operational efficiency for our K-5 students. This plan outlines a shift toward content specialization and departmentalization to ensure every child receives high-quality instruction tailored to their needs.
Key Highlights of the Proposal:
- Departmentalization (Grades 2-5): Transitioning from self-contained classrooms to a model where teachers focus on their "Specialty" (ELA, Math, or Science) to deepen the quality of instruction.
- Foundational Stability (K-1): Kindergarten and 1st-grade classrooms will remain self-contained to ensure developmental stability for our youngest learners.
- Learning Acceleration: We are moving away from traditional remediation in favor of "just-in-time" support. This strategy uses scaffolding and push-in services to keep students engaged with grade-level curriculum.
- Holistic Development: Our afternoon schedule is dedicated to "The Whole Child," featuring enrichment in Technology, PE, Library, Art, and Gifted and Talented (GT) programming.
- Data-Driven Growth: We will continue to monitor student progress using MAPS, SBA, and STAR assessments through our new Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
